I Don't Want To Talk About It....

Almost two years ago Rod Stewart came to Vancouver and I was in my element. I was beyond excited that he was coming to perform here and I was thrilled to have tickets!

What I did not expect is that my brother in law would be working at an establishment in downtown Vancouver where Rod would not only frequent, but because of his Celtic football obsession, he would practically live at to watch the matches. He would come in at all hours of the day and night, hidden away from the "regular folk" to enjoy the games.

I was OF COURSE given this information by my brother in law and "invited" to "drop by" during the times that he was aware that Rod would be there. For some UNKNOWN reason - nerves? ...professionalism? ...craziness? ....I decided not to go and 1. sleep! or 2. go to work.

Seriously...what WAS I THINKING? I am not sure. If the opportunity came up again, please know that I would be enjoying the Celtic match, pretending to like beer and eating chicken wings at 5:00 am just for the chance to breathe in the holy grail that is Rod. For real.

As a small token of my (stupidity) saintly decision to sleep and work, my brother in law offered to get me his autograph. From the stories I hear, he signed just a few and then asked to be left alone to watch the match. Perhaps it is best that someone else did the dirty work for me?

...Because, IF I know anything about men, it is steer clear of an important sporting event!

Nonetheless, this is what I have of Rod, besides regret for my ridiculous good girl behaviour. LIVE AND LEARN. Sigh.
