Long Weekend

Happy Victoria Day!  Here in Canada we celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday with a holiday Monday! Sounds like a celebration that I can get behind.

Typically most Canadians joyfully spend this long weekend getting ready for summer - hosing off the patio furniture, barbequing, sleeping in, gardening, traveling and/or camping. It's kind of like the unofficial start to summer. It's the weekend that you can start wearing white shoes. A warm up for the season to come, in a way.

We always stay home for the long weekend. I gardened my little heart out. I have aches in places I never knew existed. To make me forget my muscle spasms, we hopped in the car and went downtown. Here's some photos I took around the Seawall at Stanley Park last night. I looked at a few and actually said, "Wow" aloud. Vancouver's quite breathtaking.

Perhaps we are smarter than we thought to stay home this long weekend? Why go anywhere when you live in a city that looks like this? ...Oh, right...the rain.
